Counties Manukau District Health Board

7 & 8 September 2006
TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre, Manukau City, Auckland

The key themes of the Workforce Sustainability conference will be to ask the question
“what kind of workforce do we need in the future?”

We as a health industry face major challenges over the next 20 years.

Are you ready?

  • How can we be sure we will have the trained people we need?

  • How can we be prepared for the demand on our services and our facilities?

  • How can we fund a future health service?

Counties Manukau District Health Board will host three interactive Sustainability Conferences.

The first of these will focus on WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT.  We will examine how our workforce in primary, secondary and community care, must adapt to meet the needs of our future health consumers.

The conference will be opened by the Hon Pete Hodgson Minister of Health.

The next two conferences will focus on:

  • Funding and how will we pay for a future health service? April 2007

  • Demand Management & how do we meet the expectations of health service consumers? October 2007
